First mechanism
Crisis survey
Start out by asking yourself:
• am I safe from physical danger?
• are all my bones intact?
• are all my body parts where they belong?
• is my heart still beating?
• are my lungs still working?
• can I feel my limbs?
If yes, then know you will survive the next few seconds.
Take a breath, focus on filling your lungs and feeling your ribs expand, close your eyes if you are able. Focus on your breaths.
Path of first mechanism
Through the practice of this mechanism, you can quickly screen yourself to realize at this moment you are safe, and your life is not in danger. You can take 1-2 moments to breathe. This is the start of your journey inwards.
Second mechanism
“I choose what I bring to the next moment.”
• I have never been to the future.
• I have no way to predict what is to come.
• I will never be prepared for all that is to come.
If I am thinking of work and how I dislike my coworkers, I am bringing those situations and negative energy to the present moment. By acknowledging these thoughts, I can choose if I want to bring those situations, people, and energies with me to the next moment.

Mantra

Your mantra should be specific to you and what you want to bring with you on your journey.

My personal choice was peace and love.
What did that mean? What did that look like?
It was only while talking to my sister about this concept that I was able to understand that peace was too general and was not specific enough for me. Everyone’s sense of peace will be different from mine.
To me, peace is being light and weightless. I am at peace with my past, present and future so I am not weighed down by them.
Therefore, I can move through each moment effortlessly. I realized the word I was looking for was light and not peace. I have become an embodiment of light and love through this mantra guiding my steps.
Third mechanism
What comes next?
